The Doric's requested an artisan crafted kitchen renovation with an open concept. This was achieved by removing a bearing wall between the old kitchen and living room. A wall into the lower part of the house was also removed to create a greater flow between the spaces. Hardwood flooring was installed throughout with custom maple cabinetry and mouldings. To add texture elements to the kitchen, a rustic multi-coloured slate tile was chosen for the backsplash. Engineered quartz countertops and stainless steel appliances add to a contemporary feel.

The focus of this Toronto remodel was to foremost open up the space. This was done by partially removing the wall between the kitchen and dining room. In addition to this task, the size of the kitchen was increased by wrapping the countertop around into the back entrance of the house where previously a pantry was located. The style of the kitchen is traditional with the most salient feature of the cabinetry being a dark rustic accent in the door panels. It is well accompanied with the brushed bronze finishes.
